The Canterbury Tales (2011)

We toured the country's open-air venues in 2011 with our ambitious and hilarious new version of Geoffrey Chaucer's The Canterbury Tales, translated into vibrant modern English.

If you missed it, the play followed a group of pilgrims that held a story-telling contest on the road to Canterbury. Their diverse stories included old favourites such as 'boy meets girl', 'talking chicken meets fox' and 'red-hot poker meets naked bottom'...

A theatrical first, we managed to perform every one of the 23 Canterbury Tales; which meant 6 talented actors playing over 70 characters! Along the way there was puppetry, masks, music, farce, horror - and even a bit of Shakespeare!
